Gramarye & Regret
A long, chalk-white, arched bridge built from carven blocks of limestone, which traverses a span of blackness the depths of which none can tell. The bridge is a source of terror to all, home as it is to multitudes of nightmares which envelop and snatch away any walkers who pass over its arched back. Only the most willful, ignorant or rational can resist the suffocating pull of Old Night and arrive safely on the other side. All others are food for the demons of the ultimate dark.
Why would anyone try to cross such a dangerous bridge? Because it leads to where one wants to go, whether it be the inner sanctum of the White City or the Winter Queen’s boudoire, as long as some sliver of darkness penetrates into the place being sought after. The magic of the bridge is both a boon and a bane to curious and brave travellers.
